YOUTH BOARD

About the Youth Board.

We are looking for new voices to join our Youth Board, a diverse group of Londoners aged 16–24 who ensure young people are at the heart of everything we do.

We’re offering young people an opportunity to support Trapped in Zone One’s work as Ambassadors, Observers, and Evaluators.

All members of the Youth Board will act as Young Ambassadors, regularly being involved in organisational decision-making and the development throughout our organisation, such as serving on recruitment panels and working with our Board Members. 

Every young person on the board will be representing young people’s views, and advocating for change and better opportunities for their fellow Londoners.

Feeling unheard? Want to make a difference? Be the voice of your generation and shake things up with other young leaders. We’re looking for young champions to join our new Youth Board in helping shape how we work with young Londoners and improve services.

What’s in it for me?

Helping us will allow young people to be seen, heard and lead on new ideas to be explored for change. There are opportunities for the members to develop key skills like public speaking, leadership skills, decision making skills and the formation of youth-led projects.

  • Have Your Say: Represent us at networking events speaking directly with stakeholders about the issues facing young people across London.

  • Professional Growth: Advise our leadership team on how to better deliver youth programmes in London. 

  • Opportunities: Gain hands-on experience supporting our delivery sessions. 

  • Expand Your Network: Connect with like-minded peers and gain unique insight into the Not-for-Profit and youth sector.

What happens when you join the board?

  • You can join for between 6-12 months! Work with other young leaders.

  • Meet in person at our Island Point Community Centre, E14 3PW

Who can join the board?

  • Are you 16-24-year old?

  • Live in London

  • Participated in a London based youth programme in the last 12 months.

  • Everyone is welcome.

What is the commitment?

  • Attend a fortnightly/monthly board meeting at our centre on the Isle of Dogs (travel expenses will be covered)

  • Extra events where Youth board members are invited to.
